From 3rd-8th August 2025, I faced one of the biggest endurance experiences of my life, when I took on the 1500km (950-mile) London Edinburgh London (LEL) Audax UK cycling challenge, on the ElliptiGO stand-up bike. A severe weather warning was issued 2 days before the event, so I showed up ready to be tested! The time-limit for successful completion of LEL 2025 would be 128 hours & 19 min (please don’t sniff at the “& 19 min” – back in 2013, when I faced the 1400km version of LEL, I finished with just 20-min to spare)! All my toughest endurance tests are now dedicated to the memory of my late brother Garai – including my LEL 2025 ride.
